About The KSask Research Group
The KSask Research Group investigates the fundamental mechanisms governing protein and cell interactions at material interfaces to inform the design of biomedical devices. Our research seeks to mitigate adverse biological responses, such as thrombosis, inflammation, and infection, through precise control of surface properties. We employ chemical, biological, and topographical surface modification strategies, integrating advanced methodologies in nanotechnology, surface patterning, 3D printing, microfluidics, proteomics, advanced surface characterization, and more. A central focus of our work is the development of polymeric materials for blood-contacting and pediatric medical applications, with broader relevance to tissue engineering, drug delivery, nanomaterials, membranes, and biosensors.
